CNC Precision Machining

We have some of the largest CNC machinery in the world, enabling us to meet the tightest tolerances and most exacting specifications. Our state-of-the-art CNC lathes are capable of handling parts ranging from 1/4" in diameter to 76" in diameter, with lengths up to 480". Additionally, we operate several Vertical Turning Lathes that can accommodate parts up to 144" tall and 240" in diameter. Our fleet also includes multiple Horizontal Mills, capable of machining components ranging from 184" tall to 714" long. Furthermore, we have several Gantry Mills that can accommodate parts ranging from 120" wide to 420" long. With this extensive range of equipment, we are equipped to handle large-scale and complex projects with unparalleled precision and efficiency.

Metal Fabrication and Welding

With over 500 tons of lifting capacity and barge access, SMC specializes in precision metal fabrication and custom manufacturing services for a wide range of industries. Our highly skilled team of welders and fitters is trained to meet some of the strictest welding codes in the industry. They are proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, working with a broad range of materials and configurations. Additionally, we employ the latest plate and shape processing equipment, ensuring that each project is completed with precision and efficiency. Our commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction sets us apart as a trusted partner for complex and large-scale fabrication needs.

AISC CERTIFIED HSS

Steward Machine’s Inspection Dept has over 100 years of experience in Quality Control, and with Inspectors working both shifts, Steward can guarantee to continue the level of quality our customers have come to expect. Our Inspection staff has extensive knowledge of the fabrication and machining of complex bridge components, hydraulic structures, and various other components used throughout the industry. These machinery and fabrication components are verified by our American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspectors and Mechanical Inspectors. Steward Machine also has Level I, II, and III Nondestructive Testing Inspectors that are certified in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and ANSI/ASNT CP-189. The Nondestructive testing methods performed by Steward Machine are Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Visual Testing (VT). Radiographic Testing (RT) is also performed using a third-party source when required by the contract.

In addition to the above credentials, Steward is a Standing Member of The Society of Protective Coatings.
