Steward Machine was responsible for the detailing and fabricating of the bridge drive machinery.  This is a tower drive machinery arrangement consisting of four driven counterweight sheaves.  These sheaves, fabricated and machined by Steward, are 17 feet in diameter, five feet wide and weigh over 100 tons.  Steward also designed, fabricated, machined and tested the Earl gear reducers used on this project
